The power of partnership: Profisee and Microsoft—collaborating to serve customers better, together

Profisee is a leading provider of master data management (MDM) solutions with a deeply integrated suite of offerings that provide a unified approach to data governance. Profisee is a long-standing Microsoft partner with deep integration spanning technology, partner ecosystem initiatives, and more recently specialized ISV Success benefits. The partnership is paying dividends for Profisee and its Azure customers are benefiting by using their enterprise data more efficiently to drive business.

Profisee’s master data management solution is the gold standard for delivering high-quality data in Azure. Tightly knit with Purview, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Synapse, Profisee has the most MDM implementations on Azure, the most joint sales with Purview, and the most MDM deals on the Microsoft commercial marketplace.

Go-To-Market with the Commercial Marketplace 

The commercial marketplace is paramount to Profisee’s go-to-market strategy and it is seeing an increasing trend among customers moving towards its SaaS solution. The added convenience, less technical resources required, and the ability to be up and running in minutes are the main drivers. Profisee began its fully turnkey SaaS offering in February 2022 and put a big focus on making sure every existing customer understands the upside benefits of a consumption-based solution. Many existing on prem customers are choosing SaaS as the simplest way to move to the cloud.

“SaaS is getting more and more dominant and we are seeing a significant move towards it with our customers,” said Reed Gusmus, Chief Marketing Officer for Profisee. “Our customers want this in particular because it’s built on top of Azure and that gives them not only confidence in a great structure and foundation, but also for us it’s a very simple switch.”

One recent customer made the switch in only a few days as they wanted the additional assurance of high availability and automated failover. Many customers are seeing the benefits of more affordability and flexibility in moving to the cloud, especially with Profisee’s solutions that are universal across SaaS, PaaS or on prem - eliminating the need for any upgrades or relearning.

Building for the Microsoft Technology Stack

The strength behind the partnership is due in large part to Profisee’s commitment to and deep integration across the Microsoft technology stack - ultimately making adoption and implementation easier for the end customer. The Profisee MDM solution is natively integrated with Microsoft Purview (for governance), works with Azure Synapse (enterprise analytics service), and is the only MDM option with a dedicated connector shipped with Power BI. This gives users a native connector to Profisee master data as a starting point for any enterprise reporting and analysis – without having to configure additional permissions or navigate to the Profisee database.

“The connector to Power BI is huge for our customers in addition to hosting on Azure to bidirectional integration with Purview as a governance platform,” said Heidi Morrison, Manager of Channel Partners and Alliances for Profisee. “For customers that want to implement us in a Microsoft world, we are designed to hook straight into all the tools they’re already using for a very easy experience.” 

Profisee is also a partner within the Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform (MIDP) Partner Ecosystem that offers a comprehensive unified data and AI platform so customers can make the most of their data with seamless analytics and governance solutions.

“We consistently hear companies needing to use their data more effectively and the MIDP architecture allows them to do that,” said Gusmus. “That all the MIDP tools are offered through marketplace makes the whole experience more friction-free for customers.”

ISV Success  

ISV Success offers a suite of options for partners of any size to help them open new opportunities, provide technical guidance and support, and a myriad of other benefits. Profisee has been in this program since its inception and credits it with helping expand Profisee’s visibility across the Microsoft ecosystem.

“One benefit we value is the co-sell-a-thon. That has given us unprecedented access to Microsoft account executives, Data and AI Specialists, Technical Account Specialists, and Customer Success Architects,” noted Morrison. “It is a great opportunity for us to talk to people in the Microsoft field we wouldn’t normally reach. We can strategize on specific accounts, specifically those where we can help secure the Azure Cloud, increase ACR, and increase customer satisfaction.”

Through its partnership with Microsoft, the Profisee team meets with an average of 70 direct Microsoft Data & AI Specialists per week. “That gives us credibility within the Microsoft field and amazing exposure,” said Gusmus.

Expanding the Partnership

Profisee is also adding to the long-standing partnership as a key player in new initiatives around OpenAI, Microsoft Teams and Outlook integration, and data fabric architectures – all with a view to helping customers get the most out of their data in the most efficient way possible.
